Summaia provides an AI-powered platform that generates personalized, on-demand audio summaries of books. Our Service allows users to select a book, customize the summary length, and choose a preferred language for the audio narration.

A. AI-Generated Content

The summaries and audio narrations are created using proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) models. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations of the source material.

B. Not a Substitute

The Service is intended for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for reading the original book or professional advice.

2. User Accounts and Access

A. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

B. Account Registration

You may be required to register an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep this information updated.

C. Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Summaia immediately of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security.

3. Subscriptions, Fees, and Payment

A. Pricing and Billing

Access to certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. All fees are set forth on the Summaia website or application. You agree to pay all applicable fees as they become due.

B. Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) and will automatically renew at the current rate unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period.

C. Refunds and Cancellations

Payments are non-refundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

4. Intellectual Property and Content Rights

A. Summaia Content

All aspects of the Service, including the technology, software, design, text, graphics, and the AI models themselves, are the sole property of Summaia or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

B. Generated Summaries

The AI-generated audio summaries created specifically for you are considered content provided to you under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for your personal, non-commercial use only.

C. Book Copyright

The Service operates under the principle of providing educational and informational summaries of publicly available book titles, akin to critical reviews or brief educational material. Summaia does not claim to own the underlying intellectual property (the full text, core narratives, or ideas) of the original source books.

D. Prohibited Use of Generated Summaries

You may not:

• Redistribute, sell, lease, or commercially exploit the generated summaries.
• Use the generated summaries to create a competitive product or service.
• Claim authorship or copyright over the generated summaries.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Infringement: Using the Service to generate summaries of material you know to be highly restricted or illegally obtained.
• Misuse of AI: Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise discover the source code of the AI models.
• Harmful Use: Using the Service in any way that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
• System Interference: Interfering with the proper working of the Service, including introducing viruses, worms, or other harmful code.
• Data Scraping: Systematically retrieving data or other content from the Service to create or compile, directly or indirectly, a collection, compilation, database, or directory without written permission from us.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Summaia disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Summaia makes no warranty that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• The content generated by the AI will be 100% accurate, complete, or reliable.
• The quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you through the Service will meet your expectations.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Summaia, its affiliates, agents, directors, employees, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, that result from the use of, or inability to use, this service.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Summaia and its licensees and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to the Service, including any data or content transmitted or received by you; (ii) your violation of any term of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right, privacy right or book copyright.

9. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
